Copy Machine Lease Contract | FAQ

WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW MORE ABOUT YOUR COPY MACHINE LEASE CONTRACT

Warning: Don’t let your current copier vendor coerce you into signing another Copy Machine Lease contract before your current contract is up.   Normally your sales rep will visit you within 6 months of the expiration of your copier lease.

Is your organization looking to lease a multifunction copier for your office?  Besides the proposal from your vendor there are several things that need to be considered.  Most dealers operate as a contractor for major manufacturers in the imaging industry.  These copier printer dealers, have their own rules on how leases and other services are structured.  This is common because vendors support their clients locally and work with leasing companies that are not tied directly with the manufacturer of the office equipment they sell – otherwise known as 3rd party leasing companies.  Understand your local dealer’s rules (and costs) associated with a lease before you enter into any long-term contract to protect your company from hidden expenses.

Is service included in the lease?

Many vendors sell service contracts, included in the lease payment,  WE DO NOT recommend this practice!

If service is included – How many copies are included, color & B&W?

Very important that you know your monthly volume, since you will be paying for this service contract base on volume, the higher the monthly volume the lower your per copy print charge. Is a very good idea to have your volume analyzed with a print management software before leasing any equipment.

How much per copy/print for the overage.

The cost can be higher if you exceed your agreed monthly volume

Is my service contract going to increase every year, and by how much?

Dealers are known to low ball the price on the equipment, just to get in the door, and get the sale, but after a year of service, the cost per copy/print start to go up.

Do you charge delivery on supplies that are included on my lease/service contract?

As a cost savings to the dealers, they charge a delivery fee to offset costs.

Do you charge per scan?

Many dealers charge per scan. JR Copier of Minnesota does not.

Is IT support included?

If your equipment is installed on a network, does the dealer charge additional to troubleshoot, scanner or printing issues.

What is your guarantee if you are not satisfied after the sale?
Can you exchange the equipment for a different one. We will.
